Iryna Makhovska

Iryna Makhovska is a Ukrainian artist currently living and working in Denmark.

A member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Iryna was born in Mariupol, where she began her artistic journey in early childhood.

Iryna taught painting, graphics, composition, and art history at the Kuindzhi Art School in Mariupol, alongside participating in exhibitions, plein airs, and masterclasses.

The full-scale Russian invasion devastated her hometown in 2022. Despite the tragedy, Iryna survived and relocated to Denmark.

Now based in Denmark, Iryna continues to create works that convey hope for a peaceful world.

In October 2023, Iryna joined the Klitgaarden Refugium art residency in Skagen, supported by the Displaced Artists Network.

Her recent series “Prime” explores surrealism and experiments with acrylic techniques, reflecting her evolving artistic vision.

She works across various mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, and drawing, delving into new expressions of the intangible world.

Through her art, Iryna Makhovska conveys resilience and the enduring human spirit, creating powerful reflections on the possibility of peace and harmony.
