Biography
Yevhen is an esteemed member of the Ukrainian Artists’ Union and currently resides and works in Chernihiv, Ukraine. Born on January 1, 1986, in the city of Simferopol, he comes from a family of artists, which greatly influenced his artistic journey.
Shapovalov actively participates in both regional and national exhibitions, projects, and plein air events. His involvement in the art community began in 2001 when he attended art courses under the guidance of Yevhen Krip. Since then, he has continuously exhibited his artwork in regional and national shows, showcasing his evolving talent and artistic growth.
In 2010, Shapovalov became a member of the Ukrainian Artists’ Union, further solidifying his position within the Ukrainian art scene. His commitment to his craft and artistic development has led to notable achievements throughout his career. In 2011, he held a successful solo exhibition titled “Master Class” at the Gallery in Kyiv, where he showcased his artistic expertise and unique style. In 2017, he organized another solo exhibition in Chernihiv, showcasing the depth and breadth of his artistic expression.
Yevhen Shapovalov´s artworld
Shapovalov’s talents extend beyond traditional exhibition spaces. In 2017, he had the opportunity to participate in the 18th International Repinsky Plein Air event held in Chuguev, Ukraine. His remarkable skills and artistic vision earned him recognition as the winner of the national plein air event “The Best Artist” in Vinnytsia in the same year. These experiences allowed him to further explore his artistic abilities and connect with fellow artists and enthusiasts.
In 2018, Shapovalov held a personal exhibition titled “Antropogenese: Origin, Object, Body” at the “Manufactory” Art Gallery in Kyiv. The exhibition delved into the theme of anthropogenesis, exploring the interconnectedness of humans and their environment. Additionally, he participated in the “Antropologi” project at the Lera Litvinova Gallery, further showcasing his versatility and artistic depth.
